About the Bolton Literacy Trust

Bolton Literacy Trust was incorporated under the Companies Act on 27th November 2001.
The Company is a private company limited by guarantee, not having a share capital.
The Company was registered as a Charity on 3rd July 2002.

The patron of BLT is poet, writer and performer, Terry Caffrey.
 
Terry has worked in 2500 schools and has been the writer in residence in 28 prisons and at Chethams School of Music, as well as with the Halle Orchestra for 8 years.
 
Terry is a studied writer in GCSE course work and has worked in 16 Young Offenders Institutes. He is also the resident writer in the Citadel Theatre and was the northwest's first author/reading champion.
 
Terry has performed at the Everyman Theatre, the Playhouse Theatre, the Bridgewater Hall, the Millenium Dome, the Citadel Theatre, Bolton's own Octagon Theatre and Manchester's Royal Exchange.
 
Terry has been the winner of many literary awards and is published by Arnolds, Collins, Hutchison and McMillan.
