Alan

The church Alan remembers

When I was in my early teens I used to go to St Stephens and All Martyrs on Sundays. After a few months I joined the choir. From there I went to bible classes and was confirmed at what was one of last confirmation services to be held at St Georges Church, St Georges Road Bolton before the church was closed.
One day my mother went to the Doctors and the doctor whom mother saw happened to mention that I had a nice singing voice. My mum asked where had he heard me sing ,when the doctor said in the church choir my mum nearly fainted as mum was unaware that I was even going to church never mind being in the choir!
