Great Lever User Group

"Waiting to Learn" - new project for GLUG, funded by NLDC

GLUG have secured funding for a new project! The money will enable GLUG members to go out and about on the streets of Great Lever on Tuesday afternoons putting up posters and delivering flyers and trying to encourage local people into informal learning.
The project will also involve monthly 'Learning Get-togthers' at the Great Lever Family Learning Centre where local people can participate in a range of fun and informal learning activities.
 
The dates and themes for the get-togethers (1pm until 2.30pm) are:
 
Tuesday 3rd November - "TEA"
Tuesday 1st December - "CHRISTMAS"
Tuesday 2nd February - "ROMANCE"
Tuesday 2nd March - "WOMEN ONLY PAMPERING"
Tuesday 4th May - tbc
Tuesday 22nd June - tbc

Why not become a member of GLUG - Great Lever User Group
 
Main roles of GLUG:
 
1. To identify gaps in learning / activity provision in Great Lever and Morris Green and to work in partnership with local agencies to fill the gaps.
 
2. To guide agencies in Great Lever and Morris Green in their delivery of activities in the area.
 
3. To provide vision for learning activities and provide a voice on behalf of residents of Great Lever and Morris Green.
 
4. To bid for funding for activities, events etc. in Great Lever and Morris Green.
 
5. To promote the activities provided in the area.

In the past 2 years (2007-2009) GLUG has generated over £20,000 to address local need and has facilitated a series of valuable projects. Two examples are summerised below.
